Processing HMRC Notices
Handling physical or digital correspondence from HMRC is traditionally time-consuming. Complyax uses AI to read the notice and draft a professional response instantly.
Creating a Case
When an HMRC letter arrives:
- Navigate to the HMRC Enquiries module.
- Click Upload Notice and scan/upload the PDF letter.
- Complyax’s AI will read the document using OCR, identify the tax reference numbers, and categorize the urgency of the notice.
- A new “Case” is created in the split-pane workspace.
The Case Workspace
The workspace is divided in two to make drafting replies easy:
- Left Side: Displays the original HMRC letter, the extracted summary of their demands, and a tray for any evidence files you’ve collected.
- Right Side: Displays the AI-generated draft response.
Refining the Draft
The initial AI draft is a strong starting point, but you can always refine it.
- Manual Edits: You can click directly into the text editor on the right side and type your own changes, just like using Microsoft Word.
- AI Revisions: If you want the AI to rewrite a section (e.g., “Make this sound firmer” or “Include the fact that the client was hospitalized”), simply type your instructions into the AI prompt box and click Refine.
Once you are satisfied with the response, mark it as “Ready for Approval”.
